Attendees will learn:

  • Different strategies to generate genetically altered rodents and the purpose of each strategy with regards to the scientific questions that can be asked
  • Appropriate and inappropriate animal models to interrogate the cellular and molecular mechanisms mediating acute cellular rejection of allografts
  • Appropriate and inappropriate animal models to interrogate the cellular and molecular mechanisms mediating chronic allograft injury
  • How various animal models can be used to develop treatment strategies in transplantation
  • How various animal models can or cannot be used to develop or validate biomarker profiles in clinical transplantation
