Robert Anthony PhD

Dr. Anthony is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, and an Assistant Immunologist at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Jeffrey Ravetch at the Rockefeller University, Dr. Anthony defined the glycosylation requirements for the anti-inflammatory activity of IgG antibodies (sialylated IgG), identified the receptor recognizing sialylated IgG antibodies, and described the Th2 response triggered by ligation of DC?SIGN by sialylated IgG. His own laboratory at the Massachusetts General Hospital in the Center for Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases is interested in manipulated IgG antibody glycosylation to engineer appropriate immune responses during autoimmune disease, cancer, and infection.
