Joseph Bonventre is the Samuel A. Levine Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Chief of the Renal Division of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Chief of the BWH-HST Center for Biomedical Engineering. He is past President of the American Society of Nephrology and is a member of the ASN council. His research focuses primarily on the study of kidney injury and repair, with special emphasis on the role of biomarkers, inflammation and stem cells and he is an advisor to a number of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies on patient kidney safety and kidney therapeutics.
