Why is this topic important?

Transplantation is a high risk, high-cost treatment for end stage disease and is also one of the most highly regulated areas of healthcare in the United States. These facts, when combined, require skillful, collaborative leadership to ensure success for both patients and programs. Defining the success of a transplant program may be based on outcomes, volume, or financial wellness. Strong collaboration between clinical and administrative leaders is key to maintaining success in each of those three categories. Clinical leaders, such as medical and surgical directors, have the greatest responsibilities for a program’s volume, outcomes, and patient safety while administrative directors are focused on business intelligence and regulatory aspects of the program.

The goal of this webinar is to provide participants with multi-disciplinary insights into leading a successful transplant program based on structure and collaborative functions. Pathways for success as well as training resources will be discussed from clinical, business, and regulatory perspectives.
